Who we are
Nameline is operated by Digital Native, Co. (“we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use Nameline, how we use it, and the choices you have. To contact us about privacy, email contact@digitalnative.vip.
What we collect
- What you enter for a check: the website address, and any brand name or description you provide.
- Check results: text from the homepage we read, the questions we generate, the AI answers, the brands named and the sources cited.
- A hash of your network address: we store a SHA-256 hash of your IP address (for IPv6, of its /64 network) with each free check, and use it to enforce daily limits. A hash can sometimes be linked back to an address, so we treat it as personal data.
- Your account: when you sign in with Google, we receive and store your email address and Google account identifier. When you use an email and password, we email you a link to confirm the address and set the password, and store your email address and a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself. We keep each link, as a one-way hash, until it is used or expires after an hour, and a record of the emails we sent for up to a day, to limit how many go to one address. We also keep a record of recent failed sign-ins for each email for up to a day, to slow down password guessing. We don’t ask for your name, photo or contacts.
- Support messages: when you contact support, we store your email address, what you write and our replies, and, if you’re signed in, which account sent it. When you aren’t signed in, we also store a hash of your network address, as for free checks, to limit messages per visitor, and a one-way hash of each link we email you to open the conversation, for up to 90 days.
- Your tracked brands: the brands you track, their questions and the results of each re-check.
- AppSumo licenses: when you redeem a license bought on AppSumo, we store its license key, tier and status, as AppSumo reports them, and link it to your account. AppSumo doesn’t share your payment details or email address with us.
- Subscription details: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, status and renewal date. Stripe collects your payment details directly, and we never receive your full card number.
- Technical logs: our hosting providers may record standard request information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To run checks, produce reports and re-check tracked brands on your plan’s schedule.
- To sign you in, keep you signed in and protect your account.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To enforce usage limits, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To comply with the law and keep required financial records.
We don’t sell your personal data or use it for advertising. If you’re in a region that requires a legal basis, such as the EEA or UK, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and our legal obligations.
Who receives it
We share data with the providers that help us run Nameline, and only as needed for the purposes above:
- Railway: application hosting and database.
- Vercel: website hosting and AI Gateway, which routes our requests to AI models.
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity and DeepSeek: AI models that answer the questions we generate. An analysis model, currently OpenAI’s, also receives the homepage text, brand details and each answer. Anything published on the homepage you submit may be included. None of these models receives your email address or payment details.
- Google: sign-in, if you choose Continue with Google.
- Stripe: payments and billing.
- AppSumo: lifetime licenses bought on AppSumo, and confirming which license is yours when you redeem it.
- Resend: sending the emails that confirm your address and set your password, and support emails.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect people or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. These providers may process data in the United States and other countries, under their own safeguards.
Reports can be opened by link
Anyone who has a report’s link can open it without signing in. The link is hard to guess, but treat it as you would any shareable link, and only send it to people who should see the report.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, which lasts up to 30 days, plus short-lived cookies and browser storage needed to complete sign-in and return you to the right page. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and tracked brands until you ask us to delete them. Check results don’t currently expire automatically, and they stay stored when you stop tracking a brand. You can ask us to delete them. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can stop tracking a brand in the app and cancel your subscription from Manage billing. To delete your account, email us. Cancel any subscription first, so that billing stops before the account is removed.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, email contact@digitalnative.vip. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Security
We encrypt traffic in transit, store only hashes of session tokens, and limit access to data. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Children
Nameline is a business tool for people aged 18 or over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us personal data, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update the date above when this policy changes, and tell subscribers about significant changes before they take effect. See also our Terms of Service.
